“The program for analyzing thermal images acquired from a drone for search and rescue of missing persons has successfully found an ailing 83-year-old. The missing man had wandered away from the hospital in Miechow (Malopolskie Voivodeship). In a straight line he was found as far as 15 km from the hospital !
The Fire Department team using a drone took thermal imaging images of an area of more than 40ha.
The RDT application pinpointed characteristic heat points that could indicate human presence. Additional analysis helped to select one point to which the Ground Search Team was sent and found the wanted man!”
